Wood and Spirals

This necklace is based on a request by a customer. She wanted the focal part of the necklace to be a wooden ring, and that many chains were connected to it on each side. It would be worn as a “choker”, really tight around the neck.

After weeks of research for the famous wooden ring, I found it in a local bead store in the Ottawa area. After making some tests with the different weaves, and getting the approbation from the client, I started to work.

Some hours of work later, with precision, I successfully attached every chain to the central ring, without breaking it. I ended the spirals with a patch of European weave 4 in 1, for the chains to sit correctly.

The piece has been made using brass rings, metal that possesses a nice golden shine, at a fraction of gold’s price.
